In Adelaide Juvenile Court (Australia), a 17-year-old boy pleaded guilty to hacking a number of systems, including Apple servers. According to the lawyer, at the time of the hacking, his client was only 13 years old, and he did not pursue any malicious intent, but only wanted to be noticed and given a job in the company.

According to the court, together with another student from Melbourne, the defendant penetrated the Apple network twice (in December 2015 and early 2017) and downloaded internal documentation and data from there. According to defendant’s lawyer Mark Twiggs, because of his age, his client was not aware of the seriousness of his actions. He heard that a similar case occurred in Europe, when the company that hacked into the company's network was then invited to work.

Twiggs asked the court to acquit the young man, since he intends to enter the university in the cybersecurity and criminalistics department, and having a criminal record may in the future prevent his employment in his specialty.

Judge David White did not file a guilty verdict, but only ordered the teenager to pay a $ 500 fine. White acknowledged that the young man was highly valued at school for success, and since Apple was hacked, he has used his technical skills only for good.

As a result of the actions of teenagers, Apple has not suffered any damage, writes ABC. The company declined to comment on the situation, but provided the same press release on the case as last year:

“At Apple, we carefully monitor the security of our networks. We have special information security teams that detect and eliminate threats. In this particular case, our teams discovered unauthorized access, blocked it and reported the incident to law enforcement agencies. We consider the data security of users one of our main duties and we want to assure our customers that their personal data has not been compromised as a result of this incident. ”
