By unauthorizedly changing the information processed in the computer to which the said employee had access, the Transcarpathian illegally appropriated the money of the clients of the bank in which he works. Now the man faces responsibility.

The Department for Combating Cybercrime, together with employees of the Mukachevo Police Department, under the procedural guidance of the Mukachevo Local Prosecutor's Office, exposed a resident of Zakarpattia Oblast who illegally misappropriated approximately UAH 700,000 while working as a pawnshop lending specialist for a Ukrainian bank. The police found out that, having the right to access a computer program that processes information for pawnshop activities, the Transcarpathian changed the information processed in the specified program.

Having entered inaccurate information to the applications for joining the terms of the loan secured by precious metal, the man misappropriated the money of the bank's customers.

The defendant was informed about the suspicion under Part 1.3 of Art. 191 and part 1.3 of Art. 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, ie misappropriation and misappropriation of property, or taking possession of it, by abuse of office and unauthorized use of computer information.

The indictment will be sent to court. The defendant faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
