A hacker from Beloozersk stole more than $ 56 thousand

A 20-year-old resident of Beloozersk was approached by operatives of the Cybercrime Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee. The young man attracted attention by distributing malicious software. Thus, the guy illegally received confidential user information, including information about computer equipment, logins and passwords, as well as bank card details.

The hacker used the obtained information to access their accounts on behalf of the owners, from which the money was stolen. Modern digital commerce tools were used to cash them out, including online game accounts, crypto wallets and online exchangers.

"At the place of residence of the attacker, the police found more than $ 56 thousand, obtained by criminal means," the Interior Ministry said.
