There are a ton of new features coming to your wrist with the upcoming watchOS upgrade. Apple wants to provide you new methods to monitor your body, so many of the most important features have to do with keeping an eye on your health.

Vitals is a brand-new app for tracking health.
One of the new apps in these updates is called Vitals, and it will provide you with a summary of your vital information both now and in the past. In addition to tracking how things have been going over the previous few days, weeks, or months, you will be able to analyze your health measurements, such as heart rate and sleep statistics, from within the app.

Training Load aids in workout planning.
A new function called Training Load is also available on Apple Watches running watchOS 11. With the help of this tool, you may measure your exercise regimen and determine how it might impact your overall recuperation more precisely. It uses information such as your weight, height, and heart rate in addition to other factors to measure your training intensity and assigns a score ranging from 1 to 10.

You can even change this score according to how well you think you performed. In order to produce a comprehensive data set, your watch will first create a 28-day training load. It will then average out the effort ratings and workout durations for the user during that time.

According to Apple, all of this can help you measure your workout progress more accurately, which could be useful for wearers preparing for races like marathons to make sure they aren't over- or under-training. In order to help create a more personalized activity tracker, Apple will now enable users to stop or even modify their activity rings on a daily basis—all without losing the benefits you've accrued from closing your rings in the past.

Additional features for fitness
With options for work and recovery sets and haptic cues to help you stay on top of your current interval changes, custom programs will now include pool swims. The Health app in iOS 18 will offer extra options, allowing users who are pregnant to stay up to date on more health-related information via their Apple Watch.

Utilize your watch to translate in real time.
Additionally, Apple gave a quick demonstration of watchOS 11's new live translating feature. The tech giant only revealed that it will support 20 languages, not much more than the AI-powered translators on Android phones like the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It appears to function similarly to such translators.

An improved Smart Stack
Speaking of, Apple has added a number of more clever capabilities to Smart Stack, such as alerts about impending storms before they truly begin, that only show up when needed. Additionally, Smart Stack is now able to recommend widgets to you, such as the recently added Shazam, Distance, and Photos widgets. Additionally, Live Activities will now show up in your Smart Stack, providing you with the most recent details on your online orders as well as other time-sensitive information.

Check in with your loved ones and pals.
With watchOS 11, Apple Watch will also get the previously released Check In function, which lets you stay in touch with friends and family by, say, informing them that you've returned home safely from an event. Together with the new turn-by-turn hiking navigation watchOS will also offer, this is a terrific safety feature that works even when your iPhone is not close by.

More Adaptable Double Taps
The tech giant is also extending the Double Tap gesture's API, enabling additional functions and apps to utilize the capability, which was first introduced on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra Watch 2. You can now use Double Tap to navigate via any app, including Messages, Calendar, and

To make payments, tap Cash.
With the release of watchOS 11, sending money through Apple Cash will also be simpler thanks to Tap to Cash, which lets you transfer money directly to another Apple Watch or iPhone by holding your own Apple Watch close to it without disclosing your phone number.

Acquire Apple Intelligence integration
Summarized alerts can also be accessed from the wrist by users who have their Apple Watch linked to an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max with Apple Intelligence. Although Apple hasn't disclosed a precise launch date, it's anticipated that testing for these AI-powered capabilities will start this summer.

Additional improvements
Lastly, watchOS 11 will bring improved concert and event ticketing capabilities along with revamped Photos faces. Your watch may now initiate a live activity and automatically display information, like as your seat number, when you attend an event.
