For the complex of monitoring mobile communications, the developers asked for almost half a million euros.
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained members of an organized group in Kiev who were trying to sell a powerful technical means for secretly obtaining information. The group offered its development for almost half a million euros.
According to preliminary information from the investigation, the group included several residents of the capital, including technical specialists and IT experts. The defendants used high-tech equipment to illegally create a mobile communications monitoring complex, which made it possible to intercept data in all ranges of mobile communications, in particular, wiretap telephone conversations and monitor Internet traffic.
The underground workshop was set up at the place of residence of one of the members of the group, and the search for customers was carried out through personal contacts.
Three members of the group were detained while trying to receive money from the customer, according to a press release from the SBU. All detainees were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 359 (illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means of obtaining information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
