Law enforcement carried out the international operation Disruptor, the main coordinator of which was the German Federal Criminal Police Office, with the support of the Netherlands National Police, the UK National Crime Agency, Europol, Eurojust, as well as various US agencies, including the Department of Justice and the FBI.

Operation Disruptor follows last year's closure of the massive Wall street market, which had over 1.1 million users and 5,400 merchants. After that, investigators were able to identify many users of the marketplace and have now reported the arrests of 179 people in several countries around the world: 121 suspects were arrested in the United States, 42 were arrested in Germany, eight in the Netherlands, four in the UK, three in Austria and one in Sweden. ... All detainees are suspected of involvement in the sale of illegal goods and services, including drugs and firearms.

It is also reported that during the searches, the police seized more than $ 6.5 million in cash and cryptocurrency from the suspects, about 500 kilograms of various drugs, including cocaine, heroin, oxycodone and methamphetamine, as well as 64 weapons.

“The golden age of darknet marketplaces is over. Such operations highlight the ability of law enforcement agencies to resist the encryption and anonymity of marketplaces on the darknet. The police not only eliminate such illegal marketplaces, they also pursue criminals who buy and sell illegal goods through such sites. The Darknet is not a fairyland, sellers and buyers will no longer be able to hide in the shadows, ”Europol said in a statement.
